Cumberland Knife and Tool was founded in Tennessee in 2024 with a simple idea: build exceptional tools in America without accepting that American-made has to mean unnecessarily expensive.

CKT comes from a background in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, military service, and professional knife sharpening. That combination shapes everything about how we work — the materials we choose, the processes we use, and the standard we hold ourselves to.

HOW WE BUILD

We believe American manufacturing can compete — not by cutting corners, but by working smarter. CKT combines modern CNC manufacturing, advanced steels, precision abrasives, automation, lean manufacturing, and skilled finishing. We use technology where it produces a better result and craftsmanship where craftsmanship matters.

The goal is simple: consistent, high-quality knives built to perform in real-world use, at prices that reflect how they were made — not how they were marketed.

WHAT WE KNOW FROM THE FIELD

CKT also operates a professional sharpening division, servicing home cooks, professional chefs, restaurants, hotels, and commercial kitchens throughout Middle Tennessee. That work isn't separate from our manufacturing — it informs it.

We see firsthand how knives perform, how edges wear under daily use, where geometry fails, and what separates a knife that lasts from one that doesn't. That knowledge goes directly into how CKT designs and builds its knives.
